Two dacoits and a police constable were killed while another constable injured in an encounter here on Monday near Iqbal Nagar. According to details, two police constables Farrukh Wasim and Khalid Hussain were patrolling near Toll Tax Satiana Road and chased two unknown motorists on way to Iqbal Nagar, which resulted in an exchange of fire. Both unknown dacoits were killed on the spot, while both constables injured seriously in cross firing.

Both the constables were rushed to Allied hospital, where Farrukh Wasim succumbed to his injuries while the condition of constable Khalid Hussain is stated to be serious.

District Police Officer (DPO) Faisalabad Muhammad Amin Wance and other Police officers reached on the spot and took custody of a motorcycle FSB-3372 along with weapons including a Repeater gun, pistol and a dragger used in encounter. Further investigation is in progress.

The dead bodies of both dacoits are lying in the Allied Hospital morgue. None of the relations has so for contacted to receive the bodies.

Meanwhile, a Police constable Muhammad Arshad who received bullet injuries in an encounter near Satiana on January, 17 succumbed at Allied Hospital Faisalabad. Two dacoits Muhammad Iqbal and Muhammad Yousaf were killed in that encounter.
